The new Support at Home program will roll out in two stages starting in July 2025. This initiative aims to enhance access to services, equipment, and home modifications for older adults, helping them stay healthy, active, and connected to their community.
Existing in-home aged care programs will continue as usual until they transition to the new system.
Program Start Date
Beginning on 1 July 2025, the Support at Home program will replace the Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs, offering vital support to seniors.
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme, which provides initial services to the elderly, will transition into the new program no earlier than 1 July 2027.
This phased rollout ensures that there are no interruptions in current services while care providers prepare for the new system.
